Who We Are
Beth Kojima and Anne-Cecilie Engell Speyer hope to make lifelong learning easy and flexible for anyone with a passion for ongoing education. For years, Beth and Anne-Cecilie participated together in small salons with authors and parenting experts. Upon reflection, they realized that the model of convening in small groups and talking about interesting things could be extended in so many ways. As a result, they founded NSL to ease the connection between experts and individuals interested in learning. Both women are excited by the breadth of content and depth of information that NSL offers. We hope you will join us on this journey of education!
Prior to co-founding NSL, Beth spent 11 years working at a hedge fund, TPG-Axon Capital, as a Partner in charge of Investor Relations and Strategy. Before that, she spent time at Morgan Stanley in Equities and at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking and Investment Management Divisions. Beth received an MBA, beta gamma sigma, from Columbia Business School, and a BA, magna cum laude, from Duke University. She is a Trustee of The New York Public Library, a Trustee of The Chapin School, and she is on the Trinity Board of Advisors at Duke University. Beth lives in New York City with her husband and four children.
Originally from Denmark, NSL co-founder Anne-Cecilie worked for 15 years in marketing and advertising at companies like Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Iconix Brand Group. She is actively involved on the Board of Trustees of The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Vineyard Theatre, Ballroom Marfa, and The Whitney Museum of American Art, where she serves as a Vice Chairman. She received her BA from Cornell University and her MBA from NYU, Stern School of Business.
